The Bendy Card

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Here’s a really unusual but simple card trick which will have your friends or audience flabbergasted!

Basically you tell your audience that you have the power to bend a playing card placed on the back of your hand without even touching it.  Of course you will get a few wry smiles and looks of disbelief but these won’t last for long!

The secret of this great card trick is that you moisten the back of your hand before you ever place the card there. There are various ways that you can do this imperceptibly for example you can pretend to wipe your nose with the back of your hand whilst secretly giving this area a quick lick or you could figure out your own way.

When you place the card on this pre-moistened area of skin, a strange phenomenon occurs: the combination of the moisture along with the natural warmth of your hand both acting together cause the playing card to magically bend much to the astonishment of your spectators!

A Magical Valentine’s Day

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

It only occupies our minds for a few days each year and we’ve just entered into that period for 2009 - the pressure of what to do for a loved one on Valentine’s Day!

Well, if you are happy with roses, chocolates, a nice meal out or a romantic dinner at home etc etc, that’s great … but what if you want something just a little different? My suggestion is to focus on what your ‘Valentine’ enjoys doing - perhaps a hobby or some new interest they have developed. If they have just discovered home cooking and enjoy new recipes then buy them a great new recipe book or cookery dvd; and if you don’t know the first thing about cookery and recipes so have no clue what book to buy then just go with an amazon top seller. It’s not rocket science to figure something out and the Internet allows us all such great freedom of choice that it’s never been easier.

I have a friend who is an avid poker player, generally winning more than they lose which is nice to hear for a change! I’m sure a lot of you out there also have poker playing friends. Anyone looking to buy a Valentine’s Day present for a poker player has got it easy … there is so much to choose from:

Poker Books

Poker DVDs

Poker Shirts & Tees

Poker Hats

Poker Sunglasses

And if that doesn’t sort out your gift problem, you can always try and impress them with some card tricks! So …. no excuse for not making this Valentine’s Day entertaining!
